Genus Advanced Table Processor for Tungsten Automation (Formerly Kofax)

THE USE CASE

Genus Advanced Table Processor (ATP) enhances the performance of the base Tungsten Automation (formerly Kofax) Transformation Table Locator within Tungsten Automation TotalAgility® and Capture solutions using a rules-based, configurable approach. The Transformation Table Locator is a powerful tool for extracting data presented in a table form by aligning the column headings and data fields. However, not all industry documents align with the rules of columns and rows and can be stacked, offset, or misaligned. Each row can become a paragraph, sometimes even splitting onto another page.

Organizations that have documents with complex table structures have an increased amount of manual processing due to inconsistencies in the number of lines and lengths. These dynamic document types may include invoices, cell phone bills, and utility bills to name a few. These complicated tables exist in many industries, but are commonplace in Logistics/Transportation, Manufacturing, and Construction.

One approach for processing complex tables is scripting. Although scripting can manage the high variability of the table lines, it tends to be specific to one type of document. Each new form of a document requires new development.
